Stray Voltage

Stray voltage occurs naturally on many farms which have grounded electrical systems. However, there are times when stray voltage can become dangerous. If you have a farm and your electrical systems are not properly grounded, you may have more than a safe amount of stray voltage. This often occurs in animal housing, such as barns. Animals, especially cows, are very sensitive to electricity. Stray voltage can cause behavior changes and adverse health affects in your animals.
